RANDY JONES presents SIX AXIOMS
Seattle's Randy Jones, a composer and software designer who makes visual music, specializes in live audiovisual performances that combine his scientific outlook with a cosmic cinematic language. When not composing audiovisual installations, he moonlights as the micro-house producer Caro, a notable figure in the Northwest American electronic music scene. His debut album, The Return of Caro, was released in 2005. Jones also co-founded the Orac label, a highly regarded boutique outlet for North American techno. Six Axioms is a visual music piece lasting around 30 minutes, a structured improvisation in three parts, most of which is made with particle systems that produce both sounds and visuals. Playing the Radio Drum, a kind of 3d Theremin, Jones triggers the creation of particles and moves them through different fields of simulation.
