The OrbUK
Founded in 1988 by Alex Paterson and KFL member Jimmy Cauty, The Orb started as ambient and dub DJs in London. During the past, the project took lots of different shapes depending on the acts composing the group, until the one we know today: the unbreakable Dr. Alex Paterson, the German producer Thomas Fehlmann and the English musician and sound engineer Michael Rendall.
The Orb is considered one of the most influential electronic music groups of the early nineties in the United Kingdom to generate the genre of ambient house and productions of that time as The Orb's Adventures Beyond The Ultraworld and UFOrb or Little Fluffy CLouds , which positioned them as the pioneers of "atmospheric" and "futuristic" electronics.
The Orb arrives for the first time in Argentina for the Edition 2 of MUTEK.AR featuring Alex Paterson and Michael Rendall, another lifetime member of the band and also known for having participated in projects together with Peter Murphy, Jah Wobble, Jesus and Mary Chain and Pink Floyd, among others. The duo will present material from their latest album 'No Sounds Are Out Of Bounds' and 'Metallic Spheres' the album they recorded with David Gilmour of Pink Floyd, in addition to the some of the band’s classics.
The concert will take place on Saturday, September 15 at 7:45 p.m. in room a+b of the San Martín Cultural Center.
