Day Pass price, excl. fees & taxesWhat is the role of the body in live electronic music? How can material friction enter digital sound realms?
This session will delve into the practice of renowned sound artist and composer Ash Fure, looking under the hood of her one-of-a-kind self-built instruments: how they're constructed, what they afford, and how they emerged from decades of research into the physical force of sound. Participants will be invited to experiment hands-on with Fure's setups, and be guided through a series of software exercises meant to explore textural chaos and iterative liveness in the compositional process.
Discussion will focus on the wildness of raw noise and the conceptual stakes of the body, with practical software strategies offered for controlling sound and light in integrated platforms, and injecting generative chaos into the compositional process.
Please note: this activity will be in English only, without live transcription nor translation. During the event, no interpreter for the Deaf will be present. This session will take place at multidisciplinary production house DASA.
