Their practice focuses on intertwining lived experience with fiction to imaginatively retell the stories of Black Trans people. In an interactive ‘playformance’, presented with the support of the Goethe-Institute Montreal, Danielle Brathwaite-Shirley’s What Happens Next is Up to You places the audience at the center of a provocative narrative on censorship and division.
