VIVE Arts

Samantha King is Head of Programme at VIVE Arts (HTC), a global arts initiative that commissions, produces, and distributes immersive experiences in partnership with leading artists and cultural institutions. Her career reflects a sustained commitment to expanding what art can be, working at the intersection of creative practice, emerging technology, and institutional innovation.

Prior to VIVE Arts, she served as Senior Producer of Audience Labs at the Royal Opera House, an innovation programme bringing together artists and immersive technologies to reimagine contemporary opera and ballet. She has also produced exhibitions at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and the Museum of the Moving Image in New York.

King specialises in multilayered, interdisciplinary experiences that use digital tools as a means of genuine creative exploration. She has collaborated with partners including Google Creative Lab, UKRI, Philharmonie de Paris, the National Gallery, Musée d'Orsay, and Opéra de Paris. Her interests centre on new forms of cultural infrastructure, the transformative potential of immersive technologies, and the possibilities that open up when interdisciplinary collaboration is given the space to flourish.

She is a trustee of the Manchester-based arts organisation Abandon Normal Devices, a member of the British Interactive Media Association Immersive Tech Council, and on the advisory board of Immersive Arts, a three-year development programme supporting artists across the UK to explore the possibilities of immersive technology.
