Poki Chan is a Ph.D. student in the INDI program at Concordia University's Faculty of Fine Arts in Montréal. Her research explores how game design and interactive technologies can preserve cultural heritage by incorporating oral history into gameplay and narratives.
With a background in interaction design and entertainment technology from Hong Kong Polytechnic University, she focuses on how the diaspora can employ virtual heritage games to document and sustain Hong Kong's cultural narratives from abroad. Her work centers on personal stories to challenge conventional approaches to historical representation while also exploring the creative and critical potential of generative AI in shaping how we engage with the past.
