Stacey Van Buskirk has been working in the music and internet industries since the mid 90's. She was part of the team that created the first online technology for collaborative music called Rocket Network (acquired by Avid to become part of Digidesign's DigiDelivery system), where she worked with both leading music software companies including Emagic, Digidesign, Steinberg, Native Instruments, M-Audio, Propellerheads and Ableton; and high-profile artists, producers and engineers like Herbie Hancock, Thomas Dolby, Sinead O'Connor and Stevie Wonder.

Stacey was the Director of New Media at Eyephunk Distribution & Label Group, a distribution company in San Francisco that specialized in electronic music. This crew of artists and DJ's produced radio shows, events and were globally recognized for their suberb selection of music -- the San Francisco Examiner noted Eyephunk as 'leaders in the electronic music community and at the forefront of emerging music trends.' Eyephunk was one of the main suppliers of electronic music for eMusic who were delivering mp3's online before the bigger revolution of digital downloads and music estores had been established. As an artist, Stacey (aka girlie8) has worked both as a musician and a visual artist. She has performed with a wide range of musicians including Anthony Rother, Juan Atkins, Coldcut, Green Velvet, Radioactive Man, Spacetime Continuum, The Crystal Method, Earth Wind and Fire and many more.

In the beginning of 2001 she founded echolocation.fm with Anna Sitko (aka anon), an artist collective that includes residents Tipper, Single Cell Orchestra, Basura + R3NDR. Together they have produced a series of ambientech environments that have been created for large festivals and as stand alone events, showcasing the best in electronic music + digital arts.

Stacey currently works as an independent producer for a variety of online and interactive projects including: the online 3D game for HBO's Deadwood; KCRW's Fringe Benefits website; LA.com; and the 8th edition of MUTEK.ca.
