As the artistry of video games continues to be illuminated, the crossover between gaming and music is creating an exciting frontier for new opportunities, in both industries. This intersection provides music artists with unique contexts of creation, and avenues to reach broader audiences, as their work becomes an integral part of the immersive worlds that gamers explore.
MUTEK is thrilled to host a special lecture-workshop designed by Ubisoft’s audio department, who will recount how they composed the score for the game Rainbow 6 locally, with the Montréal Symphonic Orchestra as their playground. After a brief presentation of the music system, participants will have the opportunity to experiment with the files of different instruments (octobass, organ, ondes Martenot...) to create their own unique music, while exchanging with Ubisoft Audio Director Vincent Gagnon and his team.
Attendees must bring laptops, with either Ableton Live or Wwise installed, as well as headphones to participate in the session

During the event, no interpreter for the Deaf will be present.
