What is quantum computer art? And how does it differ from art made solely with digital or macroscopic physical tools? In this talk, Libby Heaney will explore the physical phenomena of quantum superposition and entanglement, which demarcate quantum from digital tools, and argue that genuine quantum art should use these phenomena in non-binary ways. By referencing her artworks such as Eat My Multiverse (2025), slimeQrawl (2023) and Ent- (2022), Heaney suggests that a quantum aesthetic might move beyond fixed representations of either quantum (microscopic) or classical (macroscopic) realities and into an abstracted, performative and experiential space beyond linear time.
