CJ Carr met Zachary Zukowski at Berklee College of Music, sharing a passion for playing in bands doing avant-garde metal, punk, noise, rap, and breakcore. Sick of all the humans in those bands, they strategized a plot to ELIMINATE HUMANS FROM MUSIC, falling down the rabbit hole of Python, arXiv, and GitHub. At Music Hack Day MIT 2012, they formed DADABOTS, wielding machine learning as their instrument. 80 hackathons later, their musicianship has since deteriorated, and they are embarrassingly out of practice.
In 2019, their 24/7 AI death metal livestream RELENTLESS DOPPELGANGER \m/ \m/ \m/ \m/ \m/ \m/ \m/ went viral, running non-stop for six years, achieving the status as the longest continuous YouTube livestream. They release open-source AI as Stable Audio, currently state-of-the-art. In 2024, they toured Europe playing live, filming a documentary called Prompt Jockeys.
