We love science fiction. However we noticed that very few Indigenous people show up in books, shows or games that depict the future. We want to change that, and believe that we can thrive by encouraging people to envision ourselves in seven generations. The Skins Workshops teach Indigenous youth how to adapt stories from their community into experimental digital media, such as video games. In this workshop, participants from any background are guided in designing futuristic characters with Nomad Sculpt, an accessible sculpting software made for tablets and iPads. Together in a round table, we will discuss The Future Imaginary, and what it means to have a shared, collective future that is grounded in culture. Discussion is encouraged.

Activity capacity : 15 (maximum capacity specific to the workshop)

Please note: This activity will be in English only, without live transcription nor translation. During the event, no interpreter for the Deaf will be present.

This is a limited-capacity activity. Please use the RSVP link on MUTEK Forum application to secure your spot. Registrations open on August 14. Note that extra spots will be available 15 minutes before the event on a first come, first serve basis.
