Paloma Dawkins is a Canadian/Mexican artist, an award-winning game designer and MFA candidate in Critical Ecological Practices at Emily Carr University whose worldbuilding sits at the intersection of myth, play, and ecology. In this presentation, she unveils The Fool’s Journey, a tarot component of her broader Apocablyss Universe — a worldbuilding project that transforms characters from her experimental videogames into the Major Arcana archetypes. Drawing on ancient divination traditions, recombinatory logic, and deep listening practices, the deck becomes a playable system for transformation: a way of cultivating what Dawkins calls a lusory attitude toward change and toward the symbiotic, ever-shifting world around us.

A living echo of the Forum’s theme, The Fool’s Journey asks us to sit with uncertainty and read it as possibility.

The Apocablyss Universe will also be available to play in the Forum Lounge on August 26th, drop in and draw a card.
