Ali Kays is a Montréal-based Creative and Animation Director, visual artist, and educator working at the intersection of immersive media, animation, and storytelling. With over 25 years of experience, he has led the creative vision of award-winning projects across film, television, XR, and public installations, with works showcased at MoMA, Cannes XR, Venice Biennale, Sheffield DocFest, Siggraph, Documenta, PHI, FNC, RIDM, SAT, and the NewImage Festival.

He founded The Council for Visual Affairs, a creative studio dedicated to art, culture, entertainment, and socially engaged media. His recent collaboration as artistic and animation director includes Murmuration, an immersive VR documentary exploring migration, memory, and the body in motion, selected by SXSW’s Immersive Futures Lab and Sheffield DocFest’s Alternate Realities.

He currently teaches film animation and VFX at Collège LaSalle and has lectured at LAU and AUB, with a deep commitment to mentoring the next generation of artists.
