New Models (Caroline Busta & Lil Internet)US/DE
New Models is a podcast and community founded in Berlin in 2018 by Caroline Busta and Lil Internet, dedicated to examining how networked technology reshapes culture, knowledge, and everyday life. Operating deliberately outside the logic of mainstream platforms, the project has built an international member network and an expanding body of work at the intersection of critical theory, internet culture, and contemporary art.
Caroline Busta brings a rigorous editorial perspective shaped by her tenure as editor-in-chief of Texte zur Kunst and associate editor of Artforum. Lil Internet contributes a background spanning music, visual culture, and online subculture, originated the micro-movement #seapunk, and developed the speculative #gencore genre through a series of experimental AI mixtapes. Together, they have lectured widely and published across institutional and cultural contexts globally.
Over the years, New Models has staged live events, contributed to publications including Highsnobiety and Kaleidoscope, and produced a range of unconventional projects: an internet perfume, a digital glossary (the NM Webdex), and a collectively authored physical book, the NMCodex.
