Vinh Truong is Creative AI Research Lead at Moment Factory, where he works at the intersection of data science and artistic practice with a conviction that technology should empower human creativity, not complicate it.
He serves in a dual capacity at the studio, leading Knowledge Management while conducting R&D into the creative application of AI. In doing so, he ensures that technical infrastructure does not merely support production but actively fuels artistic innovation, transforming complex data into forms of collective intelligence that large-scale creative teams can navigate as a source of inspiration.
His background spans both arts and information science, with a specialization in emerging technologies that can be meaningfully integrated into the creative process. His approach to machine learning is fundamentally human-first: he researches how generative technologies can be harnessed to give artists greater creative control and more fluid workflows.
Beyond Moment Factory, his work has taken several notable forms. He developed Arbtr, a “Calm Technology” curation platform featured in TechCrunch, and has pursued academic research focused on ML-driven theme extraction for contemporary art. He is currently exploring the integration of generative AI and data science to build tools that increase the adaptability, precision, and long-term resonance of digital art within global production pipelines.
