Sofia Mestre aka Clothilde uses homemade machinery and modulars built from scratch by her partner Zé Diogo, aka Hobo & the Birds, to create emotional and aesthetic landscapes filling us up with textures, melodies and sections of zero visible ending points always in one unrepeatable take of deep listening brutalism. A vertigo of controlling and modulating electric frequencies drives her work echoing Annea Lockwood, Jessica Rylan, Oliveros, Maryanne Amacher and Radigue in a mesh of primal experimentation and wave.
Her debut album, Twitcher, was released by Labareda in 2018. In 2020 her work focused on soundtrack exploration specifically creating the original soundtrack for the play Os Princípios do Novo Homem from Pedro Saveedra and the co-creation with Miguel Bonneville, and original soundtrack for A importância de ser Alan Turing.
