Artist residencies play a pivotal role by providing creatives with dedicated resources and community, facilitating connections with other artists, curators and professionals, leading to valuable cross-pollination of ideas.
The panelists ─ who have participated in residencies all over the world ─ are all involved in different pockets of digital creation, from gaming, robotics to music, and share their experiences and insights navigating the tensions between artistic desires and institutional objectives.
Together, they also discuss the impact that residencies can have on artists' careers, and the role that residencies play in the global digital arts community. The conversation will be moderated by PHI’s Director of Programming Renelle Desjardins and features multimedia artist and musician Ahreum Lee, creative coder Mónica Rikić, and experimental music producer Leon Louder.

The main Forum Room activities in English will be simultaneously transcribed live by the artificial intelligence application Colibri.ai (this concerns panels, presentations, Q&A and keynotes) for any attendees who will benefit from this accessibility feature.
Those wishing to access this feature will find the session link at the beginning of each content in the MUTEK Forum application.
This is a beta service, we cannot guarantee 100% accurate transcription.

Presented by the Canada Media Fund (CMF). In collaboration with Eastern Bloc, Espace pour la vie Montréal, Hexagram, with the support of EMAP & Creative Europe
