Day Pass price, excl. fees & taxesSound artist and instrument maker Evichsen leads a hands-on workshop on building contact microphones - devices that capture vibrations traveling directly through solid matter rather than through air, transforming ordinary objects into unexpected instruments.
Participants build their own contact microphone from scratch, then use it to explore the hidden sonic world of everyday materials through guided listening exercises and hands-on experimentation. No prior experience with electronics or sound art is required, the workshop is open to participants of all backgrounds.
Please bring one or two objects you would like to hear amplified: everyday items, found materials, small instruments, natural objects, or anything you are curious to listen to in a new way. Other workshop materials will be provided on site.
Please note that this activity takes place off-site at DASA: 65 Rue Ontario O, Montréal. The activity is in English only, without live transcription nor translation.
