Claire L. Evans is a writer, artist, and cultural critic whose work sits at the intersection of technology, science and human imagination - best known as the author of Broad Band: The Untold Story of the Women Who Made the Internet and as a member of pop group YACHT.
In this keynote, Evans invites us to look beyond the human brain to explore purely embodied modes of intelligence. Drawing on diverse manifestations of intelligence in the natural world, she considers the potential of biological computing and asks what nature’s own systems grown rather than mined can teach us about the future of AI and the many shapes intelligence can take.
