Catherine D'Amours is a multidisciplinary artist, designer and professor at the École de design de l'UQAM, where she heads the Design social et pratiques responsables en design graphique et expériences visuelles axis. After several years as a design practitioner and winning awards both in Québec and abroad, she joined the UQAM faculty in August 2023. Currently a doctoral student in digital creativity, her research focuses on environmental identity, ecofeminism, biophilia and nature-culture. Her projects include Les cycles solastalgiques (Hexagram, 2023), Mitcikoc (NFB, 2022), and Peau holobionte (exhibition at ESG, June 2024). Her work has been presented at the Phi Centre in Montréal and the IDFA Festival in Amsterdam, and some auto-ethnographic works are in the collection of the Pointe-à-Callière Museum. In September 2023, she founded DEV, a research and creation laboratory that explores design, the environment and the Living.
