Sergio Parra Aguilera is a Mexican musician and music industry professional whose work sits at the intersection of culture, research, and systemic change. He holds a Master of Arts in Music & Culture with a specialization in Digital Humanities from Carleton University.
He currently serves as Research and Programming Manager at the Canadian Live Music Association (CLMA), where he leads research and industry initiatives spanning sector development, environmental sustainability, and accessibility. In this role, he directed the first-ever economic impact assessment of Canada's live music sector, establishing a foundational body of evidence for the industry. He also spearheaded the design and execution of the Climate Contingency Roadmap, a landmark climate adaptation initiative for the Canadian live music industry, and leads the organization's environmental sustainability efforts through the Sustainable Live program. Alongside this work, he champions accessibility and harm reduction practices through professional training and capacity-building across the sector.
