With a background in composition and sound creation (M.Mus, Université de Montréal), David Ledoux has combined artistic exploration with technological innovation to create spatial music for environments with high-density loudspeaker arrays. Inspired by the aesthetics of cinema for the ear, he crafts fictional sound worlds, interweaving musical and extra-musical elements, where spatialization conveys meaning, both musically and ecologically. This approach earned him the Marcelle Prize in 2018 for his work Cathédrales, as well as second prize in the JTTP competition held by the Canadian Electroacoustic Community for Ville aux Cent Clochers.
After completing the integration of the new 93.5-speaker audio system for the Satosphere, as the Immersive Lead Audio, Ledoux now works as the Research-Integrator in Immersive Sound for the Innovation department at the Society for Arts and Technology [SAT]. Driven by a passion for knowledge-sharing, he provides consulting services and supports creators through a pedagogy rooted in exploration and scenophonic research.
