Diliana Alexander is the co-founder and Executive Director of FilmGate Miami and FilmGate Interactive. She studied economics, finance, and international relations at McGill University and later at the University of Toronto. She completed her MFA in film production at the Miami International University of Art and Design. Diliana began her career in Canada as a producer, working for CBC, HGTV, the Learning Channel, and Showtime. She has been living and working in Miami, Florida since 2009, where she co-founded The Downtown Media Center, a creative hub for media-related projects and businesses. Diliana is especially interested in the convergence of art, science, and technology. An experienced speaker and programmer, Diliana is a guest lecturer at the Florida International University and Broward College. Diliana is currently producing and directing a feature film based on the young adult novel NARC, written by Florida Book Award winner Crissa-Jean Chappell, as well as Stiltsville VR, an interactive game/documentary hybrid for the Oculus Quest.
