OmniDirectional Groove is a Tio'tia:ke/Montreal-based artist and community program facilitator whose foundations are heavily influenced by her years of participation in local electronic music scenes ranging from house dance communities to after-hours clubs and underground raves. She also pulls from classical training in violin and many years of feeding musical curiosity by learning to play instruments in the brass, string, and percussion families, eventually landing on synthesis and sound design. This diversity of musical perspectives provides her with insight into the connections between elements within different genres of electronic music and the communities in which they’re situated. She aims to weave this understanding throughout all creative pursuits whether they be DJ sets, live modular synth performances, or data-based sonification projects.
