Line Katcho makes work that stays with you. The Montréal-based composer and new media artist operates at the intersection of sound and image — not to illustrate or explain, but to provoke, to move, to leave a mark.

Across AV performance, film, virtual reality, and projection mapping, she crafts experiences that are at once visceral and cinematic, fusing abstraction with narrative, experimentation with tradition, raw affect with formal precision. There is a commitment in her work to sensation as a form of meaning, to the idea that what the body feels is as important as what the mind understands.

The commitment has earned her a place on some of the world’s most respected stages: Ars Electronica, Sonar+D Barcelona, and MUTEK, alongside official selections at the Annecy International Animated Film Festival and the Festival international du court métrage Clermont-Ferrand. As a collaborator, she has composed for contemporary dance and video games, including 1000xResist, awarded the 2024 Peabody for Best Interactive Work, a recognition that speaks to the depth and reach of her practice beyond the concert hall.

Whether composing for the screen or the stage, Katcho works from a place of singular intent: to create experiences that are sensory, cathartic, and unmistakably her own.
