OuriFR/QC
Ouri is a producer, singer-songwriter and DJ born in France. She began playing the harp and piano at 5, but at 7 she found unity in the cello. At 16, she moved to Montréal and left the classical bounds behind.
Now a resident on NTS radio, her show Drawing Doors is a playground to keep building bridges between worlds when she is not building her own.
This new world is called Daisy Cutter—an album of 13 tracks. Sonics of a slowed explosion or a pair of scissors, Daisy Cutter directs the mind towards flora but is also the name of a bomb. This album is a study of the potent and highly corruptible land of desire, ready to trim or start anew.
Montréal’s underground rave scene is where her artistry began to take shape—establishing herself in the community as a producer, DJ. Lending her skills to various collaborations, she strengthened her sense of self, but also her affinity for transforming sonically.
