Vincent McCurleyCA/QC
Vincent McCurley is a Designer and Creative Technologist at the National Film Board of Canada (NFB), where he explores new ways technology can support storytelling and creative exploration. His work blends design, software, and rapid prototyping to help artists and filmmakers experiment with ideas, visualize possibilities, and discover new ways of working.
His practice spans documentary, animation, and interactive media, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to build experimental tools, interactive experiences, and prototypes. He approaches emerging technologies not as ends in themselves, but as catalysts for curiosity, conversation, and collaboration, making them accessible to creators who might otherwise find them out of reach.
Before joining the NFB, McCurley built experience across engineering, design, software development, and digital media, a cross-disciplinary background that allows him to move fluidly between technical thinking and creative practice. Whether developing new tools or facilitating workshops, he is drawn to creating spaces where people can imagine together, make ideas tangible, and uncover unexpected directions through play and experimentation.
