Thomas Payette has built a reputation in the creative industry grounded in ambition, craft, and a restless commitment to storytelling in unexpected forms.
A graduate of the Production Program at the National Theatre School of Canada, he co-founded the creative studio Mirari in 2015. As Creative Director and Experience Designer, he shapes the studio’s vision and guides its multidisciplinary teams with a leadership style that is collaborative by conviction and audacious by nature.
His career began in video and multimedia design, and has since expanded into the conception and realization of large-scale projects that span immersive experiences, live performances, and major international events. Most recently, he led the creative direction of the Canada Pavilion at Expo 2025 in Osaka, a landmark commission that speaks to the scope and ambition of his practice.
Throughout his career, Payette has collaborated with renowned artists such as Robert Lepage, François Chartier, and Kaiji Moriyama, as well as leading clients across Canada and Japan. What runs through all of it is his drive to push boundaries and deliver impactful, innovative experiences.
