Day Pass price, excl. fees & taxesSalima Punjani is a multi-sensory artist whose practice draws on a D/deaf and disability art lineage to build multisensory environments that offer many parallel entry points into an experience, rather than relying on a single sense. Since 2018, she has worked with vibrotactile technology, soft sculptures, and participatory processes to treat vibration as a form of communication, connection, and knowledge-sharing that exists beyond and alongside sound.
In this presentation, Punjani speaks to accessible curation as a practice and to the commitment at the heart of her work: creating unpolarized spaces where people can simply be together, without the sensory or social hierarchies that typically shape how we gather. Drawing on projects including The Cost of Entry is a Heartbeat, Sonic Death Cafes, Holding, Release, and Sensory Glisk, she explores how slowing down and softening our relationship to technology can help shape collective listening experiences.
Please note: This activity will be in English only, without live transcription nor translation. During the event, no interpreter for the Deaf will be present.
