Jackson 2bears, director of OTEKH and co-investigator of Abundant Intelligences, presents a vision of Land-Based AI Ecologies grounded in reciprocity, sustainability, data sovereignty, language revitalization, and community governance. Drawing on project developed through both organizations — OTEKH, dedicated to Indigenous research creation and collaborative learning, and Abundant Intelligences, an international initiative exploring how Indigenous knowledge systems can inform more ethical, relational, and community-centered approaches to AI — the talk moves through examples including AI-assisted archives and the Digital Wampum responsive creative systems, to examine how Indigenous communities are building alternative technological futures rooted in responsibility, relation and place.

The presentation is followed by a conversation with Ceyda Yolgörmez (Abundant Intelligences), deepening the discussion around the practical and philosophical stakes of these emerging models.

Please note: this activity will be in English, with live transcription available.
