Generative AI for 3D Projection Mapping: From Concept to Canvas

What does it look like to integrate generative AI into the creative workflows of large-scale spatial design responsibly?

Led by Alexis Doyon-Lacroix (Lead Motion Design & AI Creative Lead), Vinh Truong (Creative AI Research Lead) and Connor Tozier (Innovation Technical Artist & Senior Lead Motion Designer) from Moment Factory, this hands-on workshop moves from case study to canvas.

The workshop opens with an innovation case from 25 Broadway Cipriani, unpacking the real-world challenges, findings, and creative opportunities that emerged when Moment Factory integrated generative AI into a complex architectural content workflow. Participants then get hands-on with ComfyUI - an open source, node-based interface running AI image generation locally, without relying on energy-intensive cloud infrastructure. Working with smaller local models rather than large remote ones keeps the computational footprint lighter, making it a more ecologically considered approach to creative AI. The workshop concluded by taking your AI-generated visual off the screen entirely, projecting it live onto a physical maquette.
