Anne McKinnon is CEO and cofounder of Ristband, an award-winning company using game engines, VR, AI, and cutting edge technology to transform live and online experiences. Her team won the SXSW Audience Award in 2023 for their Future x Music event and ‘Best Design’ at the 2022 Paris Digital Events Summit. In 2023, McKinnon was recognized by IQ Magazine as a leading architect of the future of live music. In 2021, her team received a grant from Epic Games.
McKinnon is also an award-winning producer, and in 2024 she led global PR for the Cannes Film Festival’s first ever Immersive Competition featuring virtual reality, mixed reality, holographic and video projection works. Prior to Ristband, McKinnon worked as a strategist supporting emerging technology startups through growth and acquisition. As a journalist, she covers developments across technology and entertainment. She is a contributor to Forbes’ writer Charlie Fink’s book Convergence on 5G and AR.
