Dax Dasilva is a global tech leader and environmental activist who is well known as the creative mind behind Lightspeed Commerce Inc. and Age of Union. Dasilva founded Lightspeed in 2005 as a POS software which has evolved today into a one-stop commerce platform for retail, hospitality, and golf merchants in over 100 countries. In 2019, he authored Age of Union, a guide for changemakers, inspiring the creation of the non-profit Age of Union Alliance. This alliance, initiated with Dasilva's $40 million pledge, supports conservation efforts worldwide and promotes individual impact. Notable projects include protecting biodiverse forests and endangered species across Canada, Indonesia, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and Peru. Age of Union has also produced an array of short independent documentaries, including The Heart of a Mission, We Are the Saint Lawrence River, CAUGHT, and The Corridor. Since then, the alliance has launched the short YouTube film series On the Frontline. Dasilva, an acclaimed executive producer, was honoured with a 2023 Emmy award for his contribution to Wildcat. He continues to work on international film projects with renowned figures in the industry.
