France JobinCA/QC
France Jobin is a Montréal-based sound artist and composer whose work is often described as "sound sculpture." Rooted in a minimalist aesthetic, she develops complex sonic environments where analog and digital processes intersect, transforming listening into both a spatial and perceptual experience. Her installations and performances are presented in non-conventional spaces as well as international new media festivals.
Since 2008, quantum physics has become a key influence in her practice. In 2021, she initiated Entanglement with Markus Heckmann at MUTEK, an ongoing body of work that has since expanded into extended reality with Entanglement XR (2022) and an enveloping dome-based format presented at the Society for Arts and Technology (2023). In 2025, she continues this research with Lueurs quantiques and The Fluctuation of Emptiness, further exploring quantum phenomena through sound and spatial perception.
Her work asks a quiet but persistent question: how can the invisible logic of complex and unstable systems be felt, rather than simply understood, through the act of listening.
