Kamil Nawratil is a Brooklyn-based artist and founder of Volvox Labs, a creative technology studio working at the intersection of software, fabrication, and physical space.

The studio specializes in non-standard content creation, kinetic sculpture, interactive installations, and digital fabrication, bringing together a team fluent across software development, physical computing, and content production. Under Nawratil’s direction, Volvox Labs has built a reputation for pushing the boundaries between the digital and the physical. Projects range from large-scale kinetic works such as Tetra, and the robotic installation Astral Twin, to a massive visual dome created for 23springs in Dallas, to immersive experiential work spanning art, music, architecture, and public space.

His work has been exhibited domestically and abroad at venues including SIGGRAPH in Hong Kong, Renew in Copenhagen, the Kinetica Art Exhibition in London, the Georgia Museum of Art in Atlanta, and the New Museum's Skyroom in New York, and has been featured in Wired, The Creators Project, Creative Applications, and Fast Company, among other publications.

Nawratil holds an MFA in Computer Art from the School of Visual Arts. He continues to balance studio work with collaborations, experimentation, and commissions.
