Matt Henderson (aka Matthew Edwards / aesthetic.stalemate) is a multidisciplinary artist melding installation art, music production, film, performance, and virtual reality. In 2010, he started a DIY venue and artist space in Portland called Xhurch. After co-directing the M.A.S.S. music & performance series he became enamored with virtual reality as a confluence of digital art and creation practices. In 2015, he founded Portland Immersive Media Group, a collective of digital artists and game designers eager to explore virtual reality as an experiential medium. The group exhibited along the West Coast and were selected as finalists at Indiecade in 2016 for their project VR Spa. In 2017, he re-focused his efforts as a solo creator, billing as aesthetic.stalemate. Currently, Edwards is creating immersive A/V environments and teaching game design and worldbuilding at Portland Community College's Cascade STEAM Spaces.
