Paul McCabeCA/US
Paul McCabe is Senior Vice President of Research & Innovation at Roland Corporation, where he leads Roland Future Design Labs, the company’s advanced research group exploring the future of music creation, creativity, and emerging technology.
With more than 40 years of experience spanning music technology, product development, marketing, and innovation, McCabe has worked closely with artists, technologists, and creative communities throughout his career. He is a co-author of The Principles for Music Creation with AI, a creator-first initiative developed in partnership with Universal Music Group and launched in 2024.
After leading Roland Canada as President & CEO, McCabe joined Roland Corporation Japan while based in Los Angeles, helping establish the company’s first global marketing and customer experience organizations before transitioning to a full-time focus on long-term research and innovation.
A composer, producer, and sound designer, McCabe’s relationship with electronic music began with a Roland SYSTEM-100 synthesizer in high school, and he has enjoyed many years of friendship with MUTEK.
