Computational Witchcraft Sleepover, presented by Abundant Intelligences

It’s finally happened: the cool kids are having a sleepover and they said you could come! This workshop invites you to access the dynamic liminality of the machinic, and invoking different dimensions of human-machine relations. Join us as we collectively create an oracle deck to re-enchant our relationships with technologies through speculative storytelling, collective craft-making, and joyful divination. In a subversion of machinic encounters defined by patriarchal corporate/institutional aesthetics, language, and frameworks, this workshop conjures the queer feminist spirit of experimentation, play, and relational intelligence to help us figure out which craft holds the answers to queer liberation, techno-decoloniality, and meaning-making in the age of the machine.

Here, you will have a chance to create and play collaborative imagination games to open portals into speculative techno-worlds; co-create oracle cards using drawing, collage, writing, and sigil making; invent and play divination games; share spells, incantations, or blessings for our techno-companions.

This workshop is a celebration of slowness, silliness, and shared invention. Our goal isn’t to produce a polished product, but to nurture connection, joy, and wonder with each other, and with the machines in our lives. In the lowered light, we might come out to each other, as queer, as technowitches, as chaos magicians.

Please note:

• The space is limited to 20 participants.
• Workshoppers are invited to bring a broken, forgotten, or dead technology to contribute to an altar of broken machines.
• This activity will be in English only, without live transcription nor translation. During the event, no interpreter for the Deaf will be present.
• Admittance to this Forum activity is on a first come, first served basis. No pre-registration required.
• Doors open 15 minutes before the scheduled start time. We encourage you to arrive early to secure your spot. Once capacity is reached, no additional participants will be admitted.
