Day Pass price, excl. fees & taxesTati au Miel is a Montreal-based sound designer, DJ, and producer whose practice moves across techno, punk, and industrial sounds, fashion design, and performance art; rooted in their Haitian-Canadian heritage and queer, gender fluid identity and committed to abstraction, speculation and the emancipatory potentials of Black electronic music.
In this intimate, immersive workshop, Tati au Miel leads participants through two interconnected phases. The first introduces the foundational concepts at the heart of the session; quantum listening and electromagnetic frequencies, before moving on to a series of performative prompts and reflective scores that invite participants to move through space in response to sonic propositions. The space itself becomes a mise-en-scene: intentional rhythm harmonizing with the sounds of the room, amplified through microphones and a quadraphonic system. Inspired by Pauline Oliveros’ Deep Listening practice, Silent Praxis cultivates a collective quantum listening awareness, to the frequencies around them, and to one another.
