Housewife is the Canadian indie rock/pop solo project of critically acclaimed singer-songwriter Brighid Fry. 20 year old Fry is queer and an ally, an activist and champion of the environmental organization Music Declares Emergency. In fact, Housewife sums it up pretty concisely in her Twitter bio: “Opinionated feminist indie band.” Fry has been a staple in the Toronto indie scene since taking part in Girls Rock Camp when she was 8 years old. She has released five EPs, starred in the indie short musical Polly and the Pockets and had her music placed in numerous TV shows and films. In 2021, Fry was one of the co-founders of Music Declares Emergency Canada. She participated in the Creative Climate Leadership program, spoke at the first ever Music Climate Summit and in 2022 she was named one of Canada’s top 25 environmentalists under 25 by the Starfish Project.
